my new baby

Excuse me...the school's new baby. Since Clark and I are both taking online classes (three for me, including some at the local community college like last year, and one for Clark), one computer between three people wasn't going to cut it. It was hard enough for us last year, so we bit the bullet and purchased a new Toshiba!
Tax-free weekend helped us make the final decision, so Mama was standing in line early Friday morning with the flyer in her hand. It looks right at home on the dining room table, if I do say so myself.
The only drawback is it can't be used for blogging. :( I understand the reasoning, and it will help me keep track of my minutes I spend on the computer, but as long as I can watch Hulu and Swagbucks things, it's all good.
Opening it up. It was like Christmas morning or something...

Why, hello there, young people. Can I ask why you're taking a picture in the reflection of a laptop?
Because we wanted to, that's why! Also, say nothing about the blue trim paint. It was bad enough when Caleb asked us when we were going to finish painting the room that color. That was spurred on by the sight that is all around the house: half finished paint jobs. It's like the previous owners took a break and never cane back.
So, that's what we did this weekend. That and not much else. Unless you count going to a birthday party and getting eaten alive by mosquitoes and working in the church nursery/getting puked on by the baby you just fed exciting. Yeah, all in a day's work, my friends.

  1. Oh, that's great! It looks like a good laptop. :-) I just got one a few months ago and I was sooo excited as I had been wanting one for a long time. What kind of school work do you do on the computer? I have an internet curriculum called Monarch. Would you happen to be doing the same thing? Blessings!

  2. eden: i'm taking college courses through our local community college's learn and earn program. basically, it let's high schooler's under 16 take free classes, usually general ed stuff. there's been a lot of questioning as to if the program should stick around, but we have it for another semester, thank the lord. i'd hate to waste scholarship money on those classes. that is, if i get a scholarship. :)
    thanks for leaving a comment!
