cousin love: take two

Why yes, I am that girl who posts about get-together two weeks after they happen, but you've got to understand...these pictures can't sit in a lonely old blogger draft, uploaded and all ready to go, so I'm here now, hitting the publish button to free them.
Brock says "Look, Mom! No hands..."

And, of course, we had to have one of them stabbing each other. Boys will be boys!
All the cousins, together at last.
Haha, Alex's pose cracks me up. I wonder what she was trying to illustrate...

Dude, that is so Christmas card material, wouldn't you agree?
And, to round it all off, one running shot. I promise I don't have one leg, but it sure looks like it, right?
Okay, so I wasn't worried about the pictures. To be honest, I'm in a blogging funk. I've had a couple, and they're no fun, but what can you do? With no major things happening, days where schoolwork is worked on until supper, it's hard to think of fun, interesting things to post. So, what would you like to see? I need some input, readers, and that's what the comments are for. :) Leave one and you'll be my bestest friend forever.

ch-ch-ch-changes

**UPDATE** How could I forget to mention a giveaway going on right now?! You'd better hurry, though, since it ends tonight, but the best part is for every 100 comments, there will be one winner. Hundreds of comments means hundreds of winners, although I'm sure poor Gus would be overwhelmed. Why are you reading my rambles when you could be entering a giveaway, for pete's sake? Go HERE to enter and, hopefully, win!
If you've looked at my blog anytime since yesterday afternoon, you've probably noticed something funky going on, and that's my fault. I guess I missed monthly makeovers so much that I actually went through with my crazy idea to change my background, and I'm pleased with the results...so much so I'm going to bring back monthly makeovers. True, I didn't get this one up until halfway through the month, but it took some courage to take away all my settings, header and such.
Speaking of headers, I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it. I like the plain look, without any pictures or anything, but I miss the way it completes the look. Thoughts? I'd love to hear them, so leave a comment!
Another thing that's changed is I've put up a contact tab, updated my profile picture (thanks for all your input, readers!) and actual profile itself, along with my blog sidebar names.
So, does the pretty blog make up for my lack of posting these past couple weeks? No? Well, that's okay, because I'm back and I've got post ideas coming out of my ears, so it's just a matter of uploading pictures, writing descriptions for them, and hitting the publish button. If only it were that easy to do!

happy b-day, andrew!

(picture taken today, Sept. 13th @ Sonic)
Today is Andrew's 13th birthday, so I thought I'd give him a shout out: Here's to a great and Godly young man that you are, Andrew!
For a little fun, we decided to pick up Emily and Andrew, meet up with some of our friends, and hit up Sonic's Happy Hour like nobody's business. We all had way too much fun playing on the playground (i refuse anyone who thinks you're too old for a playground. not so!), eating tater tots, sipping Dr. Peppers, and laughing at all the funny things the guys were saying. Pictures are below, so be a dear and look at them, why don't you? :)
Burton (one of the friends who met us there), Clark, and the birthday boy himself stopped to pose for me, then went off and did their own thing.
I have a feeling all that sugar prompted this picture...
While I was taking pictures, Emily stopped and took one of me. I rather like it; thanks Em!

 One of Emmylou...

I love these things. No idea why, but they are fun!
Emily and I both decided these swing bridges scare us. We just about fell off, and I'm pretty sure it was almost touching the ground.

Like I said, we had way too much fun on the slides. Need photo proof? Look below!

Um, no words. I can't even begin to say just how hard we laughed when we looked at these on the camera.
There Emily went taking another one of me...

Another shot of the guys. I'm glad they're all friends.
Ah, the magic red button. You bring me tater tots...and happiness, and I love you.
Yummy! It's making me crave some right now. No trip to Sonic would be complete without a small tater tot, and now that they're only a dollar, it's dangerous for me to go there.

Also? Happy hour rocks. I love getting a medium Dr. Pepper for half price...

And my artistic shot for the day to end it all. Thanks for the fun afternoon, guys!

homeschool (blogging) girls get together.

How's that for a title? If you can get past the that, I've got some exciting news to share with you! Read the excerpt from a blog post by my new blogging friend, Eden...
"On September 19th at 4pm EST (3pm CDT & 1pm PDT) there will be a “Homeschool Girls Get Together” on Skype. The get-together is for any Christian, homeschooled girls (age 14-20). For the first 10 minutes or so everyone will be able to introduce themselves…you can share a little bit about you, how long you’ve been homeschooled, where you blog etc. Then we will go on to discuss how we as young ladies can use our time wisely to help our home as well as Christ’s church. Certainly, this will be a chat you don’t want to miss!
If you’d like to attend, please send me an email by clicking here. Please make the subject line “Homeschool Girls Get Together” and include your Skype username. If you’ve never used Skype before and would like to get some help signing up, please let me know! {Remember, it’s free and you don’t need a webcam!}"
Told you it was exciting! I met Eden via the March FF Challenge (which I hosted), and recently starting emailing/Google chatting with her, and she is such a sweet, caring, Godly young woman, and I can't wait to meet all the other young women joining us. Remember, Skype is like any other chatting system; all you have to do is download it like a regular chatting system. The webcam is just a added bonus to an already awesome thing! Also, if you're planning on attending, let Eden know by clicking the link above/sending her an email. She's trying to get a head count, and I'm sure she'll appreciate it.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to crash and burn on the couch before heading to bed. I've been up for 14 and a half hours, and it's really starting to take it's toll! I'll be back tomorrow, though, so keep a look out...

labor day 2010: the kickball game

Ah, the annual family kickball game. Good times! I've had a history of being picked last in all the games, so I wasn't expecting me to be first choice (um, too late. uncle tyler, uncle jp, aunt ann marie and hunter are always the ppl the captains want.), so imagine my delight when Garrison said that I was apparently on his team...
The set-up. We opted for the field this time, instead of the side yard where we were surrounded by ditches. Smart move, guys!

Click the picture...click it now! Brock's stance = hilarious.

Quinn, Mr. Jim, and Gran Jan had a great view up on the tree fort...

Hey now, that's a catch! Also? Notice the black feet; mine were even worse.

The smiles in the following pictures are priceless, ya'll.

Dad, the greatest pitcher ever, who still managed to get beaned twice, even though he wasn't on a team. Ball magnet, I tell you.

The one, and only, picture of me you'll see running. Why? 'Cause I run like a girl. A really prissy, snobbish girl, which I'm not. Moving on!

 Go Steph!
Say nothing about my protruding shoulder bones, okay? Instead, focus on Quinn's running stance, please...
And that was the end of me. I promptly zoned out of it, complete with red, drippy nose. It was all I could do to not fall down on the ground and sleep for a long, long time.
Anyways, thanks for all the memories, guys! :)
