spring weather is here.

Readers. The weather lately has been perfect. Yes, I talk about the weather a lot on the blog, but when you live in NC, it's a big part of your life. All us ENC-ers are basically flipping out over the fact that it is actually spring here, not the spring we try to make by wearing shorts on 50 degree days. Nope, it's legit 70 degrees here and we're busting out the sundresses it's so nice outside. Studying for finals is made just a bit more tolerable by sitting outside and soaking up the rays.

Sigh. I love spring, ya'll. What's the weather like in your area?

confetti egg hunt {3.28.13}

Unlike last year's egg hunt, we had a low-key kinda thing after the boy's co-op, just the boys and their siblings in the Gillette's backyard. Not that many eggs...we did our half in an hour. It was awesome, and I've concluded you're NEVER too old to smash confetti eggs on people's heads. Also? I shouldn't run. There may or may not be a photo set by Miss Lori on that time when I tried to scoop up an egg while running, fell flat on my back and swallowed confetti. An athlete I am not.

But we were talking about eggs, right? Right. Enjoy the photos I snapped in between having a blast and just being a kid again.

Getting creative with the hiding places.

Just like last year, we resorted to tossing them in the yard.

All ready to take pictures with the telephoto!
And let the egg smashing begin!

Oh look there's me post fall. Never gonna live that one down.

The aftermath. So pretty in a messy kinda way.
We had to get a group pictures of all the best friends. Seriously, these guys are such good friends and it's so awesome to watch them interact.

Look at all those cute kids!
Thanks to the Poppe's for continuing the tradition for so many years!

camp news {4.5.13}

the camp shirt is back in my wardrobe rotation. so many memories.

It's not new news that my dad drove one of the vans down to WOL Florida Camp last year. What IS new news is that as of tonight, he's going to do it again! Dad is officially driving the party van again and we are now accepting requests for seats ;) Andplusalso, the brother is coming with us! I'm so excited to have my boys come to one of my favorite places.

I'm so excited, readers. Yes, my dad is coming to camp with me, but most people don't realize that that brings me a level of comfort and makes leaving my life in NC for 10 days a little easier. I'm not a homebody, but I do love my home. Camp is awesome, and having both my dad AND my little bro there with me is going to make it that much more awesome. I'll be that crazy girl that run across campus for a hug from the leader and the handsome little Indian.

T-minus 3 months until we hit the road, FL bound!

scenes from the {easter} weekend {3.31.13}

We spent Ressurection Day by getting up early for Sunrise Service, bagels and donuts with the church family, back home for a nap before the second round of food with Mom's side of the family. We ended the night by watching the Bible season finale (Ohmyword, such a good series!) It was a wonderful time of fellowship and partying cause readers. My Jesus is ALIVE!

Pretty Easter decorations. My mom's amazing like that.

Drooling right now. It was SO good.

Dessert time.

Look at my cousin. She's pretty amazing. Missed this girl.

This cute kitty gets in on the family action cause she really is like family.
{photo cred to Mom}
Pretty much sums up the day...just relaxing.

How was your Easter, readers?

happy 17th, emily! {3.1.13}

one of my favorite of this beautiful girl...she's my IG idol {via her IG, duh}

This isn't some ol' April Fools joke, readers. It's my best blogging friend's birthday. Anybody who's reading this is probably thinking "How can they be besties, they haven't ever met!" I was one of those people when I first started blogging. But now? HAHAHA. It's possible, and probable, and very true for me & her!

She's the blonde me, except so much better at everything. Everyone knows we both work at CFA, we both love photography, we've both been through pretty similar life experiences, blah blah blah. We're so alike it's kinda crazy and it would take forever to list all the things we have in common.
We've already planned out our meeting, and we're constantly adding things we HAVE to do with each other, but until that meeting happens, I'm cool with texting & writing ya sappy blog birthday cards.

I love you , Emily Joy!

Forgive me for the extreme belatedness of this little note? That's ONE difference between us: I'm late, and she's always on time...can I be you, Em?!
