it's the little things {link up #10}

One of the most gorgeous and talented blogging women you'll ever met, Lindsay, started hosting a link up called "It's the Little Things" to remind us that God blesses in a not-so big ways. A whole day can turn around when I get a special little something in the mail or my favorite show is on TV that night, and it's great to document the little things God puts in our day to show us he loves us!

...cutting up with co-workers. We joke around and snap towels at each other and just generally laugh our heads off. I have the best job you guys.

...listening to Pandora while doing math. Music makes anything better. Even math. And on that school note, finishing up subjects is the best feeling ever...even if you haven't finished all of them yet ;)

...pretty in pink fingernails. It was late Wednesday night and I didn't have anything else to do, so I decided to paint my nails with the sheer pink polish I got a month ago. Because that's how I roll.

...having play time with the kittens. We've gotten into the habit of bringing the kitties inside at night for a half hour or so. Their little personalities shine and they run all around the room chewing on plugged in cords. I swear they are the cutest things ever. I'm such an old cat lady.

It's been a while since I've done a little things post, but it's this week that the little things made a difference in my life.

...two movies in two days. October Baby today (I cried like a baby) and THE HUNGER GAMES TOMORROW. What what!
...green grass. It's amazing how much my mood can be lifted when I look outside and see the sun shining down on it.

...cold showers. With the 80 degree temps & extra hour of daylight, we're outside lots more and I usually work up a sweat, so there's nothing more refreshing than to take a cold shower to make you feel all clean.
....doing schoolwork with a my favorite color pen. It just makes schoolwork a little more enjoyable.

...meeting a fellow blogger at my favorite place on earth, Chick-Fil-A. YOU GUYS. I met Lauren! I was so excited when I saw her and her family walk through the door...I smiled when she made eye contact but my shyness (yes, I'm shy sometimes) took over and I sat there like a rock having an internal debate wondering if she really knew who I was. Lo and behold, she did! And she came over and gave me a hug and introduced me to Davis (who is SO adorable and was wolfing down some mac & cheese and veggies) and was so sweet to little ol' me. So weird we live in the same town but never managed to run into one another until now!

Happy Friday readers. I hope you week ahead is filled with the little things like green grass and colored pens...and can't forget about Chick-Fil-A (which I'm eating my leftover nuggets as I type).

...the weather. Ya'll. It has be downright GORGEOUS here in NC. Upper 70's with lots of sunshine during the day and the ceiling fan running at night. I am in love with something that's not alive.
...having the family take care of me. Being sick is NOT a blessing for me, but the ones that supply me with Dr. Pepper, meds, and tissues I love.
...lunch with friends. We sat at Chick-Fil-A and talked with Kaley and her mom for a good solid hour today, just catching up.
...shopping trips by myself. Today I wandered around Target with my little basket. By myself. I wasn't kidnapped (success) and felt like a big girl buying things for myself.
...movies with my boys. Tonight we watched Meet the Robinsons while indulging in McD's hot fudge sundaes. Perfect Friday night.

...visiting two coffee shops in the same day.
...having four of your favorite songs come on the radio while at said coffee shacks. And you'd better believe I sang along. What? No one could hear me, but that never bothers me...I belt out a song anywhere and everywhere I go.
...lunch dates with that guy I call my dad. He's pretty amazing.
...puppy bites. However much they hurt, the remind me that our sweet pup is acting normal again!

Happy Friday readers. I'm celebrating this rainy day with plenty of computer time and just chilling. I wish the same to you!

...phone calls from Rebecca that last 72 minutes. That's over an HOUR, people. We had such a great time talking, and neither of us ever talk on the phone. She gets me. I can ramble on and on about something and she looks past my not-so-great way with words and knows exactly what I'm saying. We're gonna make it a weekly thing.
...baby-sitting with a friend. I love kiddos, but I love watching them with others. And I especially love watching them with friends. Kaley was sweet enough to keep me & my jobless self in mind for a baby-sitting gig at my old church, so I was totally psyched when she asked me to help her today!
...chicken pot pie, made with love by me. Nothing like a hot meal waiting for you Recipe coming tomorrow.
...epic sleepover plans with aforementioned RDAWG & Emily. Pictures coming from that as well!
...scheduled posts that take a load off so I can catch up on my Google Reader.
...a new blog design. I still can't get over that my blog looks exactly what it looked like in my head.

...unexpected visits from the Bolands to our WOL group. Bear hugs were given and lots of talking happened. Love that family so much!
...on that note, surprise phone calls from Hannah at 10 at night asking for MY advice on something. SO honored she thinks I have it all together. NOT, ha.
...a Snickers for dessert from Mama just because.
...warm days & cool nights. The best weather is when I can go barefoot during the day and snuggle under the down comforter at night. Not winter weather for sure, but a nice change up.
...the puppy having more good days than bad. Hallelujah!

Happy Friday, readers! I hope you've had the blessing of seeing God work in your life through the little things.

...applying for part time jobs. Frustrating because I haven't been hired anywhere, but excited because HOLY COW I'm filling out a job application. & I'll get monies in mah pocket.
...puppy snuggles from a ::ahem:: no pooping dog. Bullet needs to learn that the grass is his bathroom. That is all.
...sitting in the Coffee Shack writing this post. & eating a panini with the jazz music blasting behind me.
...reading blogs on my Kindle Fire. Thanks to Emily for reminding me about
...wearing my brother's shirt. Forget about waiting until I'm married to wear men's clothes...I can go into Clark's closet and have plaid shirts all ready for me to wear ;)
...lock-ins at church with my best friends.

Happy Friday readers! I'm off the aforementioned lock-in for WOL girls...pictures to come!
